LaPorte Piano LLC - Master Service Policies & Warranties (2026)
All non-tuning services require an executed Quote and a 40% non-refundable deposit (or as otherwise detailed in an agreed Payment Schedule) prior to the commencement of labor or materials procurement. Tuning services require payment in full at the time of service. For off-site shop repairs, the remaining balance must be settled in full prior to return delivery or release of the instrument. Invoices unpaid after 30 days accrue interest at a rate of 1.5% per month (18% APR). The Customer is liable for costs of collection and reasonable attorney fees as permitted by Connecticut law.
Instruments must be removed from the premises within 14 days of a Notice of Completion. Failure to do so will result in a storage fee of $15.00 per day. LaPorte Piano LLC retains a possessory artisan's lien and reserves the right to retain possession of the instrument until all outstanding service charges, interest, and storage fees are paid in full. The Customer assumes all responsibility and cost for shipping, rigging, and transit. LaPorte Piano LLC is not liable for delays or damages caused by Force Majeure events or third-party transit.
During restoration, previously undetectable issues (e.g., structural cracks, environmental rot, or insect damage) may be discovered. If Hidden Defects are found, work will be immediately suspended. We will notify the Customer and provide a revised Quote or Change Order. Work will resume only once the revised Quote is executed by the Customer.
We provide a limited 5-year warranty on workmanship and materials for specific components restored or installed (e.g., soundboard, pinblock, action components).
To maintain warranty validity, the Customer must ensure:
Exclusions: Damage from environmental neglect, unauthorized third-party servicing, or physical abuse voids this warranty.
Hardware is covered exclusively by the manufacturer's warranty. LaPorte Piano LLC provides a 90-day limited labor warranty on installation and mechanical integration only. We are not responsible for software, apps, network connectivity, or power surges.
Dispute Resolution: All disputes arising under this agreement shall be settled by binding arbitration in the State of Connecticut. The prevailing party in any action to enforce this agreement shall be entitled to recover reasonable attorney fees and costs.
Media Release: We document projects via photography and videography for quality control and marketing. Customers grant us a non-exclusive license for such media. We will never disclose a Customer's full identity or address without prior consent.
LaPorte Piano LLC prioritizes the safety and well-being of our staff. We reserve the right to cancel any appointment or terminate service, without penalty, in the event of abusive, threatening, or harassing behavior, or if a situation compromises the physical safety or security of our personnel.
Credits applied to future services or refund requests will be processed upon written request. Unclaimed overpayments and account credits will be held and maintained in accordance with applicable Connecticut unclaimed property laws.
All project completion dates are good-faith estimates and are not guaranteed. LaPorte Piano LLC is not liable for delays caused by external factors, including supply chain issues, transit, or Force Majeure events.
LaPorte Piano LLC's total liability for any claim arising out of or in connection with the services provided, whether in contract, tort, or otherwise, shall be limited to the total amount paid by the Customer for the specific service in question.
